Welcome to the fifth annual Lymm Historic Transport Day.
Join visitors from all over the region for a truly special day out in our beautiful village..
Our main May Queen Event field will be packed with vehicles and attractions that all the family will enjoy. This year we have not one but two Spitfires – one on the ground and one for what will be a memorable flypast.
Other exciting new features this year include the Lymm Dinosaur making a return visit after 250 million years. We also have a bigger than ever narrow gauge railway ride, as well as hundreds of classic cars and other vehicles, attractions, market, live music and top quality street food. It makes the event’s May Queen Field a must-see destination.
There is plenty to see around the village too from a LEGO exhibition to model railways. With the Bridgewater Canal flowing through the heart of the village, we have a great opportunity to mix historic working boats and traction engines plus a glimpse at the early world of cycling in a special exhibition at the new Heritage Centre on Legh Street next to the indoor market at the Community Centre.
The day begins as always with a drive-in parade at 10.30am and is topped off with the Historic sail-past at 4.30pm. There is even a ride on a vintage bus to and from the park and rides. Some indoor venues are open from 10am but the main show is from 11am till 5pm.
Park and Rides are from Lymm High School and near Lymm Rugby Club. Pick up a full programme on the day or see website for details www.lymmtransport.org.uk
