Events at Lymm Festival
STREET FUN AND FOOD FESTIVAL,
6.30pm - 8.30pm
The Cross, Lymm, FREE*.
The Street Fun and Food Fest has now become the launch event of the Festival. The centre of the village becomes a giant street café, and the air is filled with the delicious smells of the food being served by virtually every food trader in Lymm. Taste a little or a lot - you certainly won’t go home hungry!
Whilst sampling food, enjoy the entertainment! This year there will be a colourful and energetic display of traditional Morris dancing by Ringheye Morris and friends, and a hilarious, if nerve wracking, show called Trevor Organ’s Cracking Crockery, which might, or might not, involve a few broken plates!
As one of the links to Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08, the image chosen for the Big Picture this year could hardly be more appropriate. In the weeks leading up to the Festival, local people have been
painting their section of the picture and it will be pieced together into one enormous image, and unveiled with a flourish at 6.45pm. Don’t miss it -and then check out the original at Warrington Art Gallery. (More details in the Exhibition section)
