Renowned guitarist Craig Ogden combines with leading cellist Helen Thatcher to present an evening of world class music with a Latin twist.
Australian born guitarist Craig Ogden is one of the most exciting artists of his generation. His recordings for Virgin/EMI, Chandos, Nimbus, Hyperion, Sony and Classic FM have received wide acclaim. Craig has performed with all the main UK orchestras plus many abroad. He is Director of Guitar at the RNCM, Adjunct Fellow of the University of Western Australia, Associate Artist of The Bridgewater Hall, Curator of Craig Ogden’s Big Guitar Weekend at The Bridgewater Hall and Director of the Dean & Chadlington Summer Music Festival.
Helen Thatcher is a prominant chamber musician, having been the cellist of the Sorrel Quartet for over 20 years. She performs worldwide and has appeared at all the major UK venues and Festivals including the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room, St John’s Smith Square, Sage Gateshead, Bridgewater Hall, Edinburgh Festival and the Proms. She can often be heard on the radio and has recorded many critically acclaimed albums for the Chandos label. Helen is artistic director of the Erringden Ensemble.
With a background of numerous recordings and appearances with leading orchestras these talented artists combine to present works from Piazzolla and Paganini amongst others.
