Lymm Festival - Countdown ..  !  Not long now .. !

Diary ~ May 2013

FESTIVAL PRESS LAUNCH TONIGHT, 23RD MAY
LOOK OUT FOR US ON THE RADIO AND IN THE LOCAL PAPERS AND OTHER PUBLICATIONS

May is rushing by and the Festival is getting nearer. Hopefully, we will have great weather in June as we have a lot going on outdoors – transport day, trail races, walks, exhibitions, gardens and the fabulous Foodfest to name just a few.  However, we also have a fantastic selection of indoor events arranged that will not be affected by the weather. Have a look at the drop down menus at the top of the page and start ordering, as tickets are now available. On-line ordering is up and running and already the tickets are flying out. Box Office, at the Village Hall Annexe, opens 1st June.   Look out for the programmes which are available in the shops and you should have received your personal copy through your letterbox by now.

Something for everyone : You will be delighted with what is happening this year – there is a diverse and exciting selection of events that are displayed on this website as well as in the programme .   Have a look at our Preview Page;

There are things you can get involved in NOW - Art Workshops and the The Scarecrow Trail - which has a ‘CIRCUS’ theme this year (what about a fire eater, lions, clowns, jugglers ………… so many to choose from), so ROLL UP, ROLL UP,  join in the fun: we did well last year …… let’s do even better this year and get more Scarecrows around Lymm this Summer.  They are tremendous fun for all the family, easy  to make, very popular and attract visitors from all around the area. Entry forms are starting to come in so get yours  NOW (on this website or from Harrison’s, Rushgreen Services or The Coffee House) ………. and why not sign up your whole family for the Trail Races as well.

BIG Picture Artists ….  Art boards were given out on Saturday, 18th May in the Village Hall Annexe to those who had applied to help create another mammoth BIG Picture All the artwork needs to be completed and delivered to the Box Office at Lymm Village Hall on 1st, 8th, 15th, 16th or 17th June (at the very latest).   There has been an amazing response this year so the BIG Picture is going to be bigger than ever before.  We have 62 busy artists, we just need ONE MORE ARTIST to complete the Picture -  so if you want to join in, download a  Big Picture ENTRY FORM 2013 and contact Jackie Marshall on email art1@lymmfestival.org.uk   For more details, see “Special Events” at the top of this page.

By the way there is no magic wand behind this festival.  Hundreds , no thousands of hours of work are done by volunteers and our festival director. We need more help. We really do. Any time you can give before, during and after the festival (we start planning for 2014 this September) would be most welcome. Email director@lymmfestival.org.uk   We are sure to have jobs that you will enjoy and will suit your skills and availability and you will make some new friends as well!

Catch the flavour!
