Lymm Festival 2014 – A Wonderful Success
It may be over, but the Lymm Festival 2014 will long be remembered.
Good ticket sales, fine weather and great events have made the Festival enjoyable for all. 5,000 tickets were sold for Transport Day alone and many other events had the 'House Full' sign up.
The Festival Committee send their sincere thanks to sponsors, volunteers and everyone who came along.
Looking to the future, the Committee are seeking a Marketing Director (with relevant experience) to join us and help on the promotional side of this growing Festival.
Look out for an exciting programme of Festival 'Winter Warmer Events' and DATES FOR NEXT YEAR’S FESTIVAL: JUNE 18 – 28 2015
Six thousand people were watching as two vintage World War Two biplanes circled in the crystal blue skies over Lymm's Transport Day on Sunday. It was the climax to a highly successful Festival, which saw nearly three thousand tickets sold for a whole range of events spread over ten days. There were record-breaking on-line sales.
Festival Chairman Ian Marks was full of praise for all. “We had a great Festival and I would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers, committee members and the public who have supported us in such large numbers.”
He added an appeal for more volunteers to come forward. “As the Festival grows we will need more helpers and it is great fun to be involved.”
It was a truly international event with one on-line booking coming from Long Beach, California. From the Foodfest at the start, to the hugely successful Transport Day at the end, (organised by Alan Williams) the level of interest was very high. Most events reported excellent attendances including eighty people turning up for the Choral Evensong at St Peter's Church.
Festival organisers are now planning a series of Winter Warmer events, so keep an eye open for them.
